Working Group on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises
The advancement of AI brings innovative solutions, but its unchecked implementation raises concerns such as transparency obligations, discrimination, and mass surveillance.
With the aim of contributing to human-centered AI governance, LAPIN and IP.rec have collaborated with the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights, addressing AI risks and challenges through the lens of the UN Guiding Principles.
We analyzed issues such as:
- The lack of transparency in contracts and supply chains of AI-based solutions.
- The irresponsible use of facial recognition technologies in public security.
- Corporate lobbying disproportionately influencing AI regulation and governance efforts.
- The need for effective accountability mechanisms.
